Double Vision Aquatics, a business owned and operated by Carlos Bickham (“Double Vision Aquatics,” “we,” “us”), provides aquarium services in the Birmingham, Alabama area from a home base in McCalla, Alabama. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it when you visit our website, send us a consultation request through our form, or call or text our published number, (205) 899-5102. It's written in plain English on purpose — our data story is small, and this page tells all of it.

1. Information we collect

Consultation form. When you ask for a consultation we collect your first and last name, email, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your tank.

Calls and texts. If you call or text us, we have your number and what you tell us — ordinary phone use, the same as calling any local business.

Device and usage data. Like most websites, we receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. Our consultation form runs Google reCAPTCHA v3 to block spam — it's subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and the form shows Google's required notice. We may also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used.

2. How we use your information

To respond to you. Answering your consultation request is the whole point. Your details go into our customer-inquiry system so we can follow up.
To schedule and provide the services you ask about — quotes, visits, and everything in between.
To run and improve the website, including keeping it secure.
To comply with the law when we're required to.

If you ever sign up for our email updates, we use your email address to send them and nothing else — and you can unsubscribe anytime.

3. Calls and text messages

Replies about your inquiry. If you give us your phone number — on the form or by calling us — we may call or text you back about your inquiry.

Transactional and informational texts. Only if you check the optional box on our consultation form, we send automated informational/transactional text messages — such as responses to your inquiries and appointment reminders and confirmations — through our service provider. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Checking the box is never a condition of purchase. We do not share your phone number or opt-in data with anyone else for their marketing, and we retain opt-in and opt-out records for a minimum of four years to comply with TCPA requirements.

4. Third-party service providers

We use trusted providers to run the website and handle inquiries — website hosting, form processing and inquiry routing, and spam prevention (Google reCAPTCHA). They process your information on our behalf and on our instructions only. We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your information as long as we need it to handle your inquiry and any service relationship that comes out of it. If you'd like something deleted, just ask — contact details are at the bottom of this page.

6. Security

Your information is encrypted in transit (TLS), and access is limited to the people who handle inquiries. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security — but we take it seriously.

7. Children's privacy

Kids love aquariums, but this is a general-audience business website. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the update here with a revised effective date.
